Penn State Harrisburg & Penn College Move on to NEAC Women's Soccer Final Four

LATHAM, N.Y. – Home teams held serve in quarterfinal action of the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament. Third-seeded Penn State Harrisburg and fourth-seeded Penn College advanced to the Final Four on Saturday with wins.

Penn State Harrisburg (10-9-1) will take on No. 2 seed Keuka College at 2 p.m., and Penn College (11-8-1) will battle No. 1 seed and host Penn State Berks at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The women’s soccer championship game is Sunday at 1 p.m.  

Game 1: No. 3 Penn State Harrisburg 3, No. 6 Lancaster Bible 2 - Box Score

Penn State Harrisburg scored twice in the second half to come back from a 2-1 deficit to advance to the final four. In the first 45 minutes, the Nittany Lions got on the board first in the 12th minute before the Chargers scored twice, both by Jackie Moore (Alexandria, Va.), in 67 seconds to make it 2-1 before 18 minutes elapsed. Madison Hemler (Boiling Springs, Pa.) scored in the 71st minute to tie the game before Rhyan Socash (York Haven, Pa.) notched her 13th of the season in the 85th for the game-winner.

Game 2: No. 4 Penn College 4, No. 5 SUNY Poly 1 - Box Score

Penn College scored three times in the second 45 minutes to advance to Saturday. Morgan Brooks (Bellefonte, Pa.) broke a 1-1 tie in the 53rd minute with her seventh of the season. Dominique Brown (Benton, Pa.) and Ashley Donat (Lenhartsville, Pa.) added the insurance for the Wildcats. SUNY Poly struck first in the 24th minute through Sarah George (Dolgeville, N.Y.) and her 11th of the season. Penn College tied the game in the 31st on the third of the season from Miya Roman (Benton, Pa.) to make it 1-1 going into the locker room.
