Abebe & Kiss Collect NEAC Cross Country Runners of the Week

LATHAM, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Lancaster Bible College’s Abenezer Abebe and Penn State Berks’ Michelle Kiss as the NEAC men’s and women’s cross country Runners of the Week.  

Abenezer Abebe (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) recorded his third top-10 finish of the season at the highly competitive Paul Short Run on Saturday by finishing in 10th in a field of 326 runners. The sophomore traversed the 8k course in 25:50 to finish only 22 seconds behind the winner.

Michelle Kiss (Lebanon, Pa.) finished the 6k course at the Paul Short Run in 23:56.8 to finish in 80th in a field of 376 runners. The senior averaged 6:25.4 per mile and finished two minutes behind the leaders.


The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has 12 NCAA Division III member institutions which include: Cazenovia College, Gallaudet University, Keuka College, Lancaster Bible College, Morrisville State, Penn College, Penn State Abington, Penn State Berks, Penn State Harrisburg, SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY Poly, and Wells College.
