Lewis & Wolf Take Home NEAC Women's Volleyball Players of the Week

LATHAM, N.Y. – Karita Lewis from Gallaudet University and Sam Wolf from Morrisville State have been named North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) women’s volleyball Players of the Week.

Karita Lewis (Frederick, Md.) picks up Player of the Week honors after being named to the Worthington Classic all-tournament team after she compiled 45 kills, 41 digs, six aces and four blocks in four matches where Gallaudet went 1-3. For the entire week, she collected 54 kills (.177), 59 digs, 11 aces, and five blocks. She had two double-doubles during the Worthington Classic hosted by the Bison. The middle hitter had 16 kills and 12 digs against Cortland and 13 kills and 10 digs versus Catholic. In the Bison’s NEAC win against Penn State Abington, the junior eight kills, nine digs, and three aces in a 3-0 Gallaudet win.

Sam Wolf (Liverpool, N.Y.) collected Defensive Player of the Week for a third time this season after helping the Mustangs go 2-0 last week with a pair of NEAC wins. The senior began with 20 digs (6.67 per set) in a 3-0 win over Wells. Wolf then recorded 16 digs (5.33 per set) in a 3-0 sweep of SUNY Poly. Over the two matches, Wolf averaged six digs per set and added seven assists.


The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has 12 NCAA Division III member institutions which include: Cazenovia College, Gallaudet University, Keuka College, Lancaster Bible College, Morrisville State, Penn College, Penn State Abington, Penn State Berks, Penn State Harrisburg, SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY Poly, and Wells College.
