LATHAM, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has named SUNY Cobleskill’s Chris Gardener and Rashawn Best NEAC men’s soccer Players of the Week

Chris Gardener (Hudson, N.Y.) picked up Offensive Player of the Week honors. The sophomore scored in each game at the Utica College Invitational where the Fighting Tigers went 1-0-1. Gardener scored on his only shot against SUNY New Paltz in a 2-0 Cobleskill win. The Hudson, New York native scored the lone tally for the Fighting Tigers in a 1-1 double-overtime draw against Utica.

Rashawn Best (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named Defensive Player of the Week. The first-year Fighting Tiger allowed one goal over two games for a 0.45 GAA. Best needed to make two stops to shutout SUNY New Paltz on Saturday. On Sunday against Utica, Best made seven stops in the double-overtime draw. Best improved his save percentage to .778 on the season, which is third in the NEAC.
