LATHAM, N.Y. – Penn State Abington’s Hernando Villamil and Penn College’s Braeden Eckard named North Eastern Athletic Conference men’s soccer Players of the Week.  

Hernando Villamil (Philadelphia, Pa.) earns Offensive Player of the Week after scoring twice and adding an assist for five points in a 2-0 week for Penn State Abington. The senior became the all-time leader in goals with 36 after he found the back of the net against Neumann in a 5-0 win. Villamil also added an assist against Neumann and then recorded his 37th career goal in a 3-1 win against Gallaudet University. Villamil leads the Nittany Lions in goals (9) and points (19).

Braeden Eckard (Danville, Pa.) picks up Defensive Player of the Week after allowing one goal in 155 minutes of action while posting a 0-1-1 record for Penn College. The freshman did not allow a goal in 45 minutes of action against King’s (Pa.) in a 1-0 loss. In a double-overtime tie against Lancaster Bible College on Saturday, Eckard made 10 stops and allowed just one goal. The Danville, Pa. native leads the Wildcats with a 1.80 GAA and with 29 saves.
