Dennis, Neild Named Final NEAC Basketball Student-Athletes of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in men’s and women’s basketball for the week ending Feb. 17. The final weekly honorees of the season include student-athletes from Morrisville State and Gallaudet University.                                                                     

Kevin Dennis (Bronx, N.Y.) from Morrisville State has been named NEAC Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for the second-straight week and fifth time this season. Dennis averaged 26.5 points and 17.5 rebounds per game while shooting 63.9 percent from the floor in the final week of the regular season. The Mustangs’ junior forward began the week with 32 points and 22 rebounds in a mid-week win at Cazenovia. Over the weekend, Dennis added 21 points and 13 rebounds in a victory at Keuka College where he became the all-time leading scorer in Morrisville State history. He finished the week with 53 points, 35 rebounds, two steals and two blocks.  

Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) from Gallaudet University has been selected as the NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this year after scoring 63 points as the Bison picked up two wins to secure the No. 1 seed in the South Division. Neild netted 28 points with four rebounds in a win against Lancaster Bible before recording a double-double with 35 points and 11 rebounds in the regular season finale at Penn College. The Bison’s senior guard shot 56.8 percent from the field and averaged 31.5 points per game. In two games, Neild also totaled 15 rebounds, 10 assists, five steals and three blocks.


The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has 12 NCAA Division III member institutions which include: Cazenovia College, College of Saint Elizabeth, Gallaudet University, Keuka College, Lancaster Bible College, Pennsylvania College of Technology, Pennsylvania State University – Abington, Pennsylvania State University – Berks, SUNY Cobleskill, Morrisville State, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, and Wells College. Associate members are: Cedar Crest College (W Swimming), D’Youville College (W Lacrosse), Hilbert College (M&W Lacrosse), Medaille College (M&W Lacrosse), Rutgers University – Camden (M Golf), and Wilson College (M Volleyball).
