Miller, Cantando Earn NEAC Men's Volleyball Weekly Awards

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Nate Miller and Nick Cantando as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in men’s volleyball for the week ending April 1.

Nate Miller (Lititz, Pa.) from Lancaster Bible has been named NEAC Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week for the third time this year after helping the Chargers pick up two crucial NEAC victories over SUNY Poly and Wells College. Miller had 15 kills, one service ace, four digs and three block assists in a 3-0 win over SUNY Poly. He closed out the weekend with a match-high 21 kills to go along with two block assists, three aces and six digs. Miller, who leads Division III with 383 kills, averaged 5.14 kills per set and posted a .266 hitting percentage in his two games last week.

Nick Cantando (Horseheads, N.Y.) from Keuka College is the NEAC Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week after recording 52 digs in a 1-2 week for the Wolves. In a conference match against Medaille, Cantando had 21 digs and one assist. The Wolves’ senior combined for 31 digs in back-to-back matches at Hiram on March 28, which included 14 digs in a 3-2 win. With one week left of the regular season, Cantando ranks second in the NEAC with 220 digs and 2.97 digs per set.
