Horst, O'Loughlin Receive NEAC Men's Volleyball Weekly Awards

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Kole Horst and Caden O'Loughlin as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in men’s volleyball for the week ending March 11.

Kole Horst (New Holland, Pa.) from Lancaster Bible has been named NEAC Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week after helping the Chargers post a 3-0 record on the week. Horst, a sophomore outside hitter, had 39 kills and six service aces in 10 sets with a .397 hitting percentage. In a 3-0 win over Bluefield on March 6, he had 12 kills, five digs and an ace. On March 10, Horst added eight kills, five aces and four blocks against Wentworth before closing out the weekend with a career-high 19 kills against Alvernia. In addition to his 49 points, Horst had 16 digs and six blocks.

Caden O’Loughlin (Louisville, Ky.) from Wells College has been named NEAC Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week with 28 digs and five blocks in a 2-1 week for the Express. In a 3-0 sweep of Penn State Behrend, the sophomore outside hitter recorded 13 digs and two block assists. He also added eight digs, one solo block and one block assist in a 3-1 win over Alvernia on March 10. O’Loughlin averaged 2.80 digs per set and 0.50 blocks per set in a week where he also helped the offense with 33 kills and three service aces.
