NEAC Student-Athlete Spotlight: Alex Whitt, Lancaster Bible

NEAC Student-Athlete Spotlight: Alex Whitt, Lancaster Bible

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - Each week throughout the fall semester, the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) will highlight student-athletes from one of the conference's member institutions through a brief Q & A. Female student-athletes will be featured each Thursday followed by a male student-athlete spotlight each Friday. Today, we meet Alex Whitt from Lancaster Bible.

Name: Alex Whitt
 Men's Basketball
Hometown: Brevard, N.C.

What is your current class year and major?

Senior - Business Administration

Why did you choose to attend Lancaster Bible?

I transferred here to grow in my faith and also my knowledge of business. I liked that the college was small and the student camaraderie was strong.

What does it mean to you to be a member of the Lancaster Bible men's basketball team?

It means a great deal to me to be on the Lancaster Bible men's basketball team. Being a part of any team is special, but this brotherhood is something more as we care for each other both on and off the court.

If you could pick one favorite moment at Lancaster Bible, what would it be?

Winning the 2018 NEAC Men's Basketball Championship. Also the last few moments of the NCAA Division III First Round Game, at least right before Christopher Newport hit a three-pointer to win it with less than a second left.

What are your career aspirations or future goals?

My heart is in entrepreneurship, so I'm not exactly sure what I want to do yet. Hopefully something that is ministry-based and gives back to the community.

Are you involved in additional activities, clubs, etc. on campus outside of athletics?

Give us three words that best describe being a Division III student-athlete.

Fortunate, Humble, Hard Work (that goes unnoticed at times)

What is your pregame routine? Any superstitions?

Hot shower and hot cup of tea

Share with us some of your favorites:

Professional Team or Player: Not pros, but Alabama Crimson Tide Football

Finally, what makes you #NEACStrong?

I am #NEACStrong by identity not found in myself, but in Christ.
