NEAC Scholar Athletes for 2009-2010
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces the scholar-athlete selections for 2009-2010. A student-athlete must achieve a GPA of 3.4 or higher for the fall and spring semesters combined and must have been in good standing on his or her team. This year, we are honoring 276 scholar-athletes, from 14 US colleges, hailed from 13 states and 7 countries.

NCAA Accepts Penn State Harrisburg as a Member of Division III
Penn State Harrisburg has been formally accepted as an active NCAA Division III member effective Sept. 1, 2010. On July 20, the NCAA Division III Management Council accepted its Membership Committees recommendation that Penn State Harrisburg be granted active membership status.

NEAC member Penn State Harrisburg and future member Lancaster Bible have been recommended for NCAA full membership by the NCAA DIII Membership Committee. Second year provisional member SUNY Cobleskill and first year provisional member Penn State Abington have been recommended for advancement to year 3 and 2 respectively.

SUNYIT Head Swimming Coach Sue Brumm Selected to Attend NCAA Women Coaches Academy
SUNYIT head mens and womens swimming coach Sue Brumm has been selected to attend the 2010 NCAA Women Coaches Academy (WCA) this upcoming week. Brumm will be heading to Denver, CO from June 2-6 to attend the first of three five-day academies that will take place this year, with the second also being in June and the final session being held in December. There were only 25 coaches chosen to attend each summer session, with just 42 selections made for the academy in December.

SUNYIT's Golembiowski Selected to Participate on the USA D-3 All-Star Basketball Team Tour in Brazil
SUNYIT junior David Golembiowski (Barneveld, NY/Holland Patent) has been selected to participate on the USA D-3 All-Star Basketball Team Tour through Brazil this summer. Golembiowski, a D3Hoops preseason All-American, was chosen to the team due to his selection to the D3Hoops All-East Region Team this past March. The rest of his teammates will also consist of players that were All-Region selections throughout the country.

The SUNYIT baseball team rallied from four runs down against Castleton State to win game two 7-6 and even the NEAC/NAC Championship series at one game apiece, but the Wildcats would then fall 19-7 in the decisive game three at the Larry Delutis Field in Rome, NY.

NEAC Spring Championships Second Weekend Results
SUNYIT baseball finishes the season with a perfect performance in the NEAC west divisional tournament advancing to the championship games to be played on May 7-8. In softball, Keuka won three straight to uphold their 20-0 regular season record and winning the championship to advance to the NCAA tournament. In tennis, SUNY Oneonta won the NAC championship while Castleton's women won the NEAC championship advancing to the NCAA tournament. Keuka's women's lacrosse defeated Husson to win the NAC championship while in men's lacrosse championship game will be played tomorrow.

CSE Lacrosse Player Melinda Levendusky Nationally Ranked
Levendusky averaged 16 goals against for games played through March 28, 2010. So far, she totaled 135 saves with only two games remaining, making her number nine in the NCAA for total saves. For individual game highs, she is number one.

SUNYIT's Dream Season for Mens Basketball Comes to an End
The SUNYIT mens basketball team had its dream season come to end with a 104-70 loss to Williams College in the NCAA Tournament sectional semifinal round Friday night. It was the first loss in the past nineteen games for the Wildcats, who finished the season with a program-best record of 26-5. SUNYIT was the first NEAC team to advance to the NCAA Sweet 16 in any sport. They were a terrific representative of the conference and what we stand for. We are very proud of their success.

SUNYIT's Men's Team Advances to the Sweet 16
The North Eastern Athletic Conference teams compete in the NCAA tournament and bring new heights to the conference. SUNYIT defeated SUNY Plattsburgh in the first round of the tournament upsetting them 71-65. In the second round, SUNYIT upset Medaille 64-63 in a tight but remarkable finish. On the women's side, Penn State Berks lost to one of the top teams in the nation Kean University 105-68.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) and North Atlantic Conference (NAC) have entered into a partnership to expand associate membership. The NEAC will gain associate members in the sports of baseball and women's tennis while the NAC will add members for men's tennis and women's lacrosse.
