North Eastern Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Championships & All-Conference Selections
GANSEVOORT, NY – The North Eastern Athletic Conference
(NEAC) concluded the women’s tennis season with its
Conference Championship held at Birchwood Tennis and Fitness
Center, Clarks Summit, PA on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April
26, 2009 where the Penn State Harrisburg Nittany Lions won the Team
Championship. Team finishes were: 2nd Keuka College, 3rd Wells
College, and 4th Penn State Berks. Keuka College will accept the
NEAC bid for the NCAA Championships to be held in the Spring of
2009.
The Penn State Harrisburg head coach Becky Cecere received the
NEAC Coach of the Year honors while #1 Keuka College player, Megan
McGowan, received Player of the Year honors.
Individual award winners are as follows (listed in the chart
below): those receiving first team recognition won their individual
flights, those receiving second team recognition were runner-up,
and those receiving third team recognition are those who finished
in third place in their individual flight.
