Pacheco, McCarty Named NEAC Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Felix Pacheco and Ryan McCarty as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in baseball for the week ending April 14.

Felix Pacheco (Bronx, N.Y.) from SUNY Cobleskill has been named NEAC Baseball Player of the Week with a .583 batting average in a three-game sweep of Cazenovia College last week. The Fighting Tigers’ rookie had seven hits in 12 at-bats with three doubles and three walks. Pacheco drove in nine runs and scored five times to help SUNY Cobleskill improve to 6-3 in the NEAC. He finished the week with a .667 on-base percentage and a .833 slugging percentage.

Ryan McCarty (Yardley, Pa.) from Penn State Abington has been selected as the NEAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week after earning a win against Wells College on April 13. McCarty tossed six scoreless innings and allowed just three hits while striking out eight batters. In addition to his work on the mound, the Nittany Lions’ sophomore infielder hit a pair of doubles and had three RBIs to help his own cause. McCarty is 3-1 on the year with all three wins coming in league play.
