Wells Duo Sweeps Final NEAC Men's Volleyball Weekly Awards of 2019

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Caden O'Loughlin and Robert Patzer as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in men’s volleyball for the week ending April 7. This week marks the final weekly awards in men's volleyball of the 2019 season.

Caden O’Loughlin (Louisville, Ky.) from Wells College has been named the NEAC Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week with 36 kills and 40 points in the final week of the regular season. The junior outside hitter helped lead the Express to a 3-0 week with two conference wins behind a .531 hitting percentage against NEAC opponents. O’Loughlin also recorded two assists, 17 digs and four total blocks to earn his third offensive weekly award and sixth overall this season.

Robert Patzer (Syracuse, N.Y.) from Wells College has been honored as the NEAC Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the second-straight week and third time this season with 1.44 digs and 0.78 blocks per set last week. In three matches, Patzer had 13 digs, 1 solo block and six block assists to anchor the defense. In addition to his defensive effort, he added 24 kills and four service aces to help Wells secure the No. 2 seed in the NEAC Tournament.
