Mullen, Meehan Named NEAC Swimming & Diving Student-Athletes of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in men’s and women’s swimming and diving for the week ending Dec. 2. This week’s honors go to student-athletes from SUNY Cobleskill and Cazenovia College.

Dan Mullen (Oswego, N.Y.) from SUNY Cobleskill has been selected as the NEAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. Mullen won three individual events at a double dual meet hosted by Wells College with Roberts Wesleyan University. The Fighting Tigers’ sophomore won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.80 while also placing first of five swimmers in the 100-yard breaststroke. Mullen earned his third win of the weekend in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.14 seconds.

Katherine Meehan (Watkins Glen, N.Y.) from Cazenovia College has been named the NEAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athlete of the Week after winning a combined six events at two meets last week. The Wildcats’ junior placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard breaststroke against Utica on Nov. 30. She also was on the first-place 200-yard medley relay team that finished with a time of 1:54.65. Over the weekend at the SUNY Delhi Invitational, Meehan finished first in the 100-yard freestyle and breaststroke to help lead the Wildcats to a first-place team finish.
