Dennis, Armstrong Receive NEAC Basketball Weekly Honors

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in men’s and women’s basketball for the week ending Dec. 2. This week’s selections include student-athletes from Morrisville State and Penn State Berks.

Kevin Dennis (Bronx, N.Y.) from Morrisville State has been named NEAC Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after averaging a double-double in two games last week. The Mustangs’ junior forward began the week with 26 points and 11 rebounds in a 78-63 loss against nationally ranked No. 12 Middlebury. Over the weekend, Dennis posted a career-high 35 points and 32 rebounds in a 91-89 double overtime win against conference foe SUNY Poly. He finished the week shooting 61.3 percent from the field and totaled 61 points. Dennis also had 43 rebounds, four assists, four steals and four blocks last week.

Kaitlyn Armstrong (Boyertown, Pa.) from Penn State Berks has been selected as the NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week after averaging 18 points and 12 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week for the Nittany Lions. Armstrong opened the week with 18 points and 13 rebounds in a non-conference win at Cedar Crest College. The Nittany Lions’ sophomore guard recorded a season-high 22 points in a win over Lancaster Bible on Nov. 28 before adding 14 points and 12 boards against Gallaudet on the weekend. Armstrong totaled 54 points, 36 rebounds, 16 assists, 18 steals and two blocks with a 45.9 field-goal percentage in three games.


The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has 12 NCAA Division III member institutions which include: Cazenovia College, College of Saint Elizabeth, Gallaudet University, Keuka College, Lancaster Bible College, Pennsylvania College of Technology, Pennsylvania State University – Abington, Pennsylvania State University – Berks, SUNY Cobleskill, Morrisville State, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, and Wells College. Associate members are: Cedar Crest College (W Swimming), D’Youville College (W Lacrosse), Hilbert College (M&W Lacrosse), Medaille College (M&W Lacrosse), Rutgers University – Camden (M Golf), and Wilson College (M Volleyball).
