Dennis, Johnson Named NEAC Basketball Student-Athletes of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in men’s and women’s basketball for the week ending Nov. 18. This week includes honorees from Morrisville State and Keuka College.

Kevin Dennis (Bronx, N.Y.) from Morrisville State has been named NEAC Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week after averaging a double-double in a 2-1 week for the Mustangs. Dennis began the week with 13 points and 10 rebounds in a mid-week loss at Brockport. The Mustangs’ junior forward posted a week-high 23 points in an 87-73 win at York over the weekend before recording his third double-double of the week on Sunday in a win over Centenary. He finished the week with 54 points and shot 54.3 percent from the floor. Dennis also recorded 45 rebounds in three games with two assists, three steals and three blocks.

Jariah Johnson (New York, N.Y.) from Keuka College has been selected as the NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week with her first two career double-doubles at the Emerson College Tournament. The Wolves’ senior guard averaged 16.7 points and 12.7 rebounds per game in Keuka College’s 2-1 week. Johnson scored 50 points in three games, including 21 points against UMass-Boston. She also totaled 20 rebounds and tied the school record with seven blocks in a lopsided win over Dean on Sunday. Johnson wrapped up the week with 38 rebounds, five assists, four steals and nine blocks while posting a 56.3 field-goal percentage.


The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has 12 NCAA Division III member institutions which include: Cazenovia College, College of Saint Elizabeth, Gallaudet University, Keuka College, Lancaster Bible College, Pennsylvania College of Technology, Pennsylvania State University – Abington, Pennsylvania State University – Berks, SUNY Cobleskill, Morrisville State, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, and Wells College.
