Moelbert, Allen Receive NEAC Women's Volleyball Weekly Awards

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Lauren Moelbert and Jackie Allen as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in women’s volleyball for the week ending Sept. 9.

Lauren Moelbert (Hamburg, N.Y.) from Keuka College has been honored as the NEAC Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week after helping the Wolves earn a sweep of all four matches at the Keuka College Invitational for the first time since 2004. The senior outside hitter tied a career-high with 19 kills on two occasions and had 66 kills in five matches. Moelbert also posted a .183 hitting percentage with four assists, five service aces, 28 digs and four block assists.

Jackie Allen (Syracuse, N.Y.) from Wells College has been named NEAC Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week after averaging 4.27 digs per set over three matches at the University of Rochester Invitational. Allen, a junior outside hitter, recorded a career-high 29 digs in a five-set loss to St. John Fisher and finished the week with 47 digs. Allen had two double-doubles and contributed three block assists, 30 kills, one assist and five service aces.
