Merrill, Wolf Selected as NEAC Women's Volleyball Weekly Honorees

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Megyan Merrill and Sam Wolf as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in women’s volleyball for the week ending Sept. 2.

Megyan Merrill (Horseheads, N.Y.) from Morrisville State has been honored as the NEAC Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week as the Mustangs’ offensive leader in a 4-1 opening weekend. The junior outside hitter registered 79 kills, one assist, 37 digs, seven service aces and 86 total points. Merrill’s highlights included 23 kills in a 3-1 win versus Hartwick and five service aces in a 3-0 sweep of Buffalo State. She averaged 4.65 kills per set and finished the week with a .303 hitting percentage.

Sam Wolf (Liverpool, N.Y.) from Morrisville State has been named NEAC Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week with 14 assists, six service aces and 116 digs across five matches. The Mustangs’ junior libero began the season with 22 digs against Hartwick and closed out the weekend with 48 digs in a 3-1 win over Penn State Behrend. Wolf averaged 6.82 digs per set during Morrisville State’s 4-1 opening week.
