Welsh, Ausby Receive NEAC Baseball Weekly Honors

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Will Welsh and Isaiah Ausby as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in baseball for the week ending March 18.

Will Welsh (Lancaster, Pa.) from Lancaster Bible is the NEAC Baseball Player of the Week after an impressive week that helped the Charges post a 6-0 record on spring break. The junior outfielder went 11-for-17 at the plate to post a .647 batting average. Welsh scored 14 runs, hit four home runs, drew seven walks and swiped one stolen base. He drove in at least two runs in every game, finishing the week with 18 RBIs. Over six games, Welsh had a .760 slugging percentage and a slugging percentage of 1.412.

Isaiah Ausby (Endicott, N.Y.), a freshman pitcher from Cazenovia College, has been named NEAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Ausby made his first collegiate start a memorable one by tossing a no-hitter in the Wildcats’ 5-0 win over Maine-Farmington on March 13. In seven innings, Ausby issued just one walk and struck out seven to earn the complete-game victory in his only outing of the week.
