Thompson Named NEAC Men's Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in men’s volleyball for the week ending March 4. This week only includes a Player of the Week as there were no defensive nominations.

Brazil Thompson (Buffalo, N.Y.) from Medaille College has been named NEAC Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Mavericks with 31 kills in three matches last week. In a five-set win over Penn State Behrend, the sophomore outside hitter recorded 10 kills and an assist. On March 3 in a 3-2 loss to Elmira, Thompson added 14 kills and 11 digs. He finished the week with an average of 2.38 kills per set with a .187 hitting percentage. Thompson also added two service aces, 26 digs and one block.
