Gerhardt, Stevenson Honored as NEAC Men's Lacrosse Student-Athletes of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Craig Gerhardt and Joseph Stevenson as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in men’s lacrosse for the week ending March 4. This week marks the first weekly honors of the 2018 season.

Craig Gerhardt (Penn Yan, N.Y.) from Keuka College has been selected as the NEAC Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Wolves’ offense in back-to-back wins. In the season opener at Alfred State, the sophomore attacker recorded three goals and four assists to guide Keuka College to a 15-10 victory. Gerhardt had another big game in an 18-2 win against Elmira, tallying five goals with an assist. He finished the week with eight goals, five assists, two ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Joseph Stevenson (Allentown, Pa.) from Hilbert College receives the NEAC Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week award for playing a key role in the Hawks overtime win at Thiel on March 3. Stevenson recorded five saves in the fourth quarter to help force overtime and give Hilbert the eventual 7-6 victory. The Hawks’ sophomore goalie allowed five goals and made 12 stops to post a .706 save percentage.


The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has fourteen NCAA Division III member institutions which include: Bryn Athyn College, Cazenovia College, College of St. Elizabeth, Gallaudet University, Keuka College, Lancaster Bible College, Pennsylvania College of Technology, Pennsylvania State University – Abington, Pennsylvania State University – Berks, SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY Morrisville State College, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, Wells College, and Wilson College.  Associate members are: Cedar Crest College (W Swimming), D’Youville College (M Volleyball), Hilbert College (M&W Lacrosse), Medaille College (M&W Lacrosse, M Volleyball), Pennsylvania State University – Altoona (M Volleyball), and Rutgers University – Camden (M Golf).
