Kaitlyn Schwend Named NEAC Women's Swimming & Diving Student-Athlete of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Kaitlyn Schwend as its Student-Athlete of the Week selection in women’s swimming and diving for the week ending Dec. 3.

Kaitlyn Schwend (San Marcos, Calif.) from Wells College has been named the NEAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Student-Athlete of the Week after three first-place finishes to help the Express defeat conference foe SUNY Cobleskill, 152-82. Schwend won the 200-yard butterfly and took first-place in the 200-yard individual medley by finishing 1:05.28 ahead of the second-place swimmer. Rounding out individual competition, Schwend placed second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:03.00. The Wells College senior also swam a leg of the 200-yard medley relay that placed first with a time of 2:22.42 to top the rest of the field by 11.92 seconds.
