Golden, Warren Honored with NEAC Women's Soccer Weekly Awards

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Caitlin Golden and Allie Warren as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in women’s soccer for the week ending Oct. 29. This week marks the final 2017 selections for women's soccer.

Caitlin Golden (Lumberton, N.J.) from Penn State Berks repeats as the NEAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after guiding the Nittany Lions to a 3-0 week. The junior forward opened the week with a goal in a 3-1 victory over regionally-ranked University of Scranton. Later in the week, Golden scored a goal and a career-high three assists against Bryn Athyn College before closing out the regular season with two goals and two assists against Wilson.

Allie Warren (Tower City, Pa.) from Bryn Athyn College has been named NEAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season. Despite receiving a loss, the sophomore goalkeeper stopped a career-high 21 shots against NEAC Regular Season Champion Penn State Berks. Her performance also set a new program record for single-game saves. At the end of the regular season, Warren ranks second in the league with a .842 save percentage.

The first round of the 2017 NEAC Women's Soccer Tournament begins Tuesday with four games on the slate. The winners of Tuesday's games will advance to the NEAC Final Four, which is set for Saturday and Sunday.
