Bouslog, Burke Named NEAC Women's Volleyball Players of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Ashtyn Bouslog and Rachel Burke as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in women’s volleyball for the week ending Oct. 8.

Ashtyn Bouslog (Randallstown, Md.) from Lancaster Bible has been selected as the NEAC Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week with 46 kills in a 3-1 week. Bouslog, a sophomore outside hitter, had a career-high 21 kills in a 3-1 victory over Wilkes on Oct. 3. She added six kills in a 3-0 NEAC victory over Wilson and recorded 15 kills against Eastern Mennonite. Bouslog finished the week with a .227 hitting percentage with five service aces, 25 digs and three blocks.

Rachel Burke (West Winfield, N.Y.) from SUNY Cobleskill has been honored as the NEAC Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week after recording 14 total blocks in two matches. The Fighting Tigers’ rookie picked up three solo blocks in a loss at Hartwick before following that up with a big defensive effort in a 3-1 win over Cazenovia. Burke had 11 total blocks, including a career-high nine solo blocks, with two digs and eight kills in the conference victory.
