Stedman, Sheridan Named NEAC Women's Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Nakeya Stedman and Greta Sheridan as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in women’s soccer for the week ending Sept. 24.

Nakeya Stedman (Sauquoit, N.Y.) from SUNY Poly receives NEAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors after making an immediate impact in her return from injury. Stedman, a junior forward, tallied the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win against MCLA on Sept. 19 in her first game back. On Saturday, she scored both goals in a 2-1 victory at Penn College to give her team its first conference win of the year. Currently, Stedman leads SUNY Poly with six points.

Greta Sheridan (Horsham, Pa.) from Penn State Abington has been named NEAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week with solid play on both ends of the field for the Nittany Lions. The senior defender anchored a defense that held Wilson College scoreless in a 3-0 conference win on Sept. 23. Sheridan also scored two goals in the victory, including the game-winning marker.
