NEAC Announces Men's Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week for Mar. 14

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its Student-Athlete of the Week selections for the week ending Mar. 12. This week’s award-winners include Connor Gail of Keuka College and Daniel Joseph of Medaille College.

Connor Gail (Euclid, Ohio) from Keuka College has been named the NEAC Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week after helping the Wolves complete a trio of 3-0 sweeps. The junior outside hitter recorded 33 kills, 17 digs, two assists, two service aces and two blocks in nine sets. Gail contributed 11 kills against Southern Vermont on Mar. 10 and added 14 kills against Alvernia on Mar. 11. He finished the week with a .414 hitting percentage and compiled 36 points. In the NEAC, Gail ranks fifth with 3.10 kills per set and seventh with a .263 hitting percentage on the season.

Daniel Joseph (El Dorado, Calif.), a sophomore from Medaille College, has been honored as the NEAC Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. Joseph had a great week in the libero position to help the Mavericks go 2-1 in three road matches. He recorded double-digit digs in all three matches, including a career-high 29 digs in a five-set loss at Mount Saint Vincent on Mar. 11.  In addition to seven assists and one kill, Joseph finished the week with a team-high 52 digs. He currently ranks fifth in the NEAC with 2.47 digs per set.
