Several changes have been made to the upcoming schedules for baseball and softball. The softball doubleheader scheduled for March 28 at Penn State Berks will now be played on Wednesday, March 29 hosted by Alvernia University at 3:30 p.m. The baseball teams non-conference game at Penn State Harrisburg on Thursday, March 30 has been postponed as Harrisburg needed to use the date to reschedule a conference contest. No make up date has not been announced yet for the Penn State Harrisburg contest. On that same day (Thursday, March 30), the baseball team will now host Ursinus College for a non-conference contest beginning at 3:30 p.m.
The Penn State Berks baseball team won 5-4 in walk-off fashion in game one, but dropped the nightcap by a score of 7-3 to visiting Gettysburg College in a non-conference doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at Hintz Athletic Field.
Tyler Comport turned in the finest pitching performance of his career with six innings of two-hit, shutout ball to lead the Penn State Berks baseball team to a 2-0 victory over Muhlenberg College in the second game of a doubleheader at Hintz Athletic Field on Saturday afternoon. In the first game, the Nittany Lions used a two run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning to force extras, but the Mules were able to edge Berks by a score of 4-2 in eight innings.
